Hi! Thanks for stopping by.
I was born and raised in Canada. I went to school for law, I am a makeup artist and I am also certifed in personal nutrition. I love makeup, writing, fashion, traveling and experiencing different cultures and I love taking pictures.
When my husband Joshua and I met we fell madly in love with each other. I had no idea that this hockey lifestyle existed until I met him. Every summer I would be devastated when he would have to move to Europe for hockey. Like many other hockey wives and girlfriends we did the long distance relationship for a while. I would visit him as much as possible while he was in Europe and then be reunited after the hockey season was over. It was extremely difficult to be apart for months at a time. Then one day many years ago we decided it was time for me to join him for the long haul and stay the entire hockey season. It was really difficult for me to adjust to living in Europe being away from family and friends and having to start over in a new country with a new language. As time and years gone by it got easier to adjust and I got used to packing my life away and having to live out of a suitcase. In November of 2015 Joshua proposed to me in Norway and the following summer we got married! As a hockey wife we sacrifice and give up so much to be with our husbands and sometimes it’s really not easy as we face many challenges in this lifestyle living in Europe but I am happy that he is able to do what he loves most. His hockey career has allowed us to travel and explore the world. We have lived in many places from the States across the pond to Europe. Countries like Germany, Sweden, Austria and Norway.
This blog is a way to document my experiences traveling and living overseas as a “hockey wife” while following my husband Joshua’s professional hockey career. It’s a great way to keep our friends and family updated on Joshua’s hockey and our lives while currently living in Stavanger, Norway.
I find writing to be very therapeutic and a way to keep myself busy when I feel bored or lonely while my husband is on road games. I will be sharing with you useful tips and information that I have learned along the way. I will also share things about lifestyle, our crazy hockey life, my experiences living as a vegan in Europe, recipes & much more!
